TDB Tioman Resort & Tour is a diver-focused beachfront resort in Kampung Genting, Pulau Tioman, Pahang, Malaysia, created by the team behind Tioman Dive Buddy — a dive operation founded in 2012 and now part of the TDB Group, a PADI 5-Star network of dive centres and resorts across Malaysia. The resort is a 5-minute walk from Genting Jetty, 100 metres from the beach, and features enterprise-grade WiFi 6, a dive equipment washing zone, Deluxe Quad Rooms and a Mixed Dorm.
Our Story
From Dive Centre to Dream Resort
Our journey began in 2012 with a single boat and a passion for the ocean. Founded under the name Tioman Dive Buddy, we spent over a decade guiding thousands of divers through the coral reefs of Malaysia.
Along the way, we noticed something was missing in Kampung Genting: accommodation that truly understood the needs of a modern traveler. Divers wanted more than just a bed — they wanted reliable WiFi, hot showers with good pressure, and a place that felt like home.
Today, we are proud to be part of the larger TDB Group, managing dive centres and resorts across Malaysia — from the rugged shores of Tenggol to the crystal waters of Semporna. How do I get to TDB Tioman Resort?
Take the Bluewater Ferry or Cataferry from either Mersing Jetty or Tanjung Gemok Jetty, and select Kampung Genting as your drop-off point. We're a 5-minute walk from the jetty — turn left, past the mosque. Tip: the ferry can be cold, so bring a jacket, and pay the Marine Park fee at the mainland jetty.
Is Halal food available near the resort?
Yes! We're located in the heart of a Muslim village. There are many Halal eateries (warungs) serving Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai, BBQ Seafood, and Tom Yam within a 2–5 minute walk.
Can I book diving courses with my stay?
Absolutely. Our resort is integrated with Tioman Dive Buddy (PADI 5-Star Center). We offer Discovery Scuba, Open Water Courses, and Leisure Dives — bookable together with your room. See all Tioman activities.
Are towels and toiletries provided?
Yes — fresh towels and basic toiletries (soap/shampoo) are provided in all Quad Rooms. For Dormitory guests, towels are provided and soap is available in the shared showers.
I'm not a diver — is the resort still for me?
Definitely. While we love diving, many guests come just to relax on the beach, snorkel, hike the jungle trails, or enjoy the peaceful village vibe of Kampung Genting.
What room types does the resort offer?
We keep it simple with two categories: the Deluxe Quad Room (2 Queen beds, private bath, fridge, TV) and the Dormitory Rooms (Male/Female/Mixed — A/C, secure lockers, shared hot showers).
