Getting to Tioman is part of the adventure. Whether you are driving down from KL or crossing the border from Singapore, all roads lead to the jetty. Here is the step-by-step logic to getting to TDB Tioman Resort efficiently.
From Kuala Lumpur
Route: Take the North-South Highway (E2), exit at Ayer Hitam (Exit 244), and follow signs to Mersing.
Duration: 4.5 to 5 Hours.
Parking: Secure gated parking is available at both jetties (RM15 - RM18 per day).
Departs: TBS (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan).
Cost: Approx RM35 - RM45 per pax.
Operators: Sanwa Express, Transnasional.
Tip: Take the night bus (11 PM) to arrive at the jetty by sunrise.
From Singapore

The Ferry Crossing

Once you exit the jetty bridge, turn Left. Follow the concrete path for 200m (3 minutes). You will see the TDB Dive Centre flags on your right. Welcome home!

Tanjung Gemok is better for reliability (fewer tide cancellations). Mersing is better if you are taking a bus, as more buses stop there.
Can I fly to Tioman?
Currently, commercial flights (SKS Airways) are suspended. Ferry is the only way in 2026.
